St. Christopher School AR Requirements

8^th Grade

• # of Books/quarter - minimum two books
• # of points - minimum 12pts.
• Reading goal - set by teacher (5.5 and up)
• % of grade - 10%
• Purpose - builds comprehension, improves vocabulary, strengthens fluency, and promotes outside reading
• For failed tests - book report make up assignment (70% of points given maximum)

7^th Grade

• # of Books/quarter - minimum two books
• # of points - minimum 12pts.

• Reading level - Chapter books 3.0 and up (or determined by teacher)

• Purpose - builds comprehension, improves vocabulary, strengthens fluency, encourages a love for reading & broadens interests
• For failed tests - (60% or lower)- students may retake one time.

2^nd Grade

• # of Books/quarter - minimum two books per month
• # of points - points not applicable
• Reading level - student choice
• % of grade - not applicable
• Purpose - introduction to AR program, builds comprehension, improves vocabulary, strengthens fluency, promotes outside reading
• For failed tests - (60% or lower)- no retakes
