Faith

Student-Led Masses and Prayer Services:
- Each class coordinates with the children's liturgist and homeroom teacher to plan and host either one of the monthly Masses or the series of weekly Advent and Lenten prayer services.  Students actively participate by leading prayers, serving as lectors, and singing in the choir.  School parents and parishioners are invited to attend these student-hosted spiritual events.

Daily Prayer:
- Prayer is an important expression of faith.  Students engage in prayer at the beginning of each day, prior to lunch, and at the end of the school day.

Sacramental Programs:
- Students in 2nd grade participate in our First Eucharist Preparation Program. In addition to the preparation that occurs in the 2nd grade classrooms, school families come together with families whose children are enrolled in the parish's Religious Education program to celebrate at family-centered monthly Masses. Our students in 4th grade take part in the First Reconciliation Preparation Program.  This sacrament is celebrated along with children of parish families during Lent.

Retreats:

- Junior High 7th and 8th grade students participate in day long teacher-led retreats held off-campus. These events provide opportunities for community building, reflection, and celebration.

Altar Serving:

- Students may choose to serve the parish and school by training to be altar servers at Masses.  This program is open to 5th through 8th grade students.

Community Service Programs:

- The Presentation Sisters motto, "Not Words, But Deeds," forms the foundation for our Caring Kids and Service Learning Programs.  These programs provide and monitor opportunities for students to serve the community, thereby encouraging a sense of responsibility and compassion for those in need.

  • Caring Kids: Each classroom in grades kindergarten through 6th grade chooses a service agency and plans projects to address the needs of the agency and the clients it serves.

  • Service Learning Program: Students in grades 7 & 8 are given the responsibility of choosing opportunities to serve nonprofit service agencies or arranging for service opportunities on their own.  This allows students the ability to perform community service in an area of particular interest to them.
